Associate conductor Logan Souther, and assistant conductor Eli Zelman host The Hamptons Music Club series “Symphonic Journey: The Evolution of the Symphony from Bach to Mahler.”
Before there was the symphony, there was Bach. His orchestral suites and concertos created the patterns, harmonies, and energy that later composers would expand into the symphonic form. In this session, we’ll discover how Bach’s music became the blueprint for centuries of orchestral writing.
