The Slattery Gallery Opens in Southampton with First Solo Hamptons Exhibition of Gerard Byrne
Byrne’s newest body of work will be on display through Monday, October 13. The exhibition, described by McMullan as “a luminous exploration of light, form, and memory,” introduces Byrne’s interpretations of impressionism and contemporary realism to Hamptons audiences for the first time in a solo setting.
Gerard Byrne returns to the Hamptons with his most comprehensive exhibition in the U.S. to date, marking the grand opening of Slattery Gallery. “Stillness in Motion: Seeing Light Anew” presents twenty five carefully selected works that span the breadth of Byrne’s artistic practice, from intimate plein air studies to monumental studio compositions.
“There’s something about the Hamptons light that brings the work alive. I’m delighted to be back in Southampton—this time with a full body of work and space to let it breathe.” — Gerard Byrne
