WWII Pop-Up Exhibit Opening

2 2 people viewed this event.

Eighty years ago, one of the most devastating conflicts in world history, World War II, came to a close. The sacrifices were immense, and nearly every Southampton family was affected by this monumental conflict. The Southampton History Museum’s new pop-up exhibition, Homefront to Battlefront: Southampton during World War II, shares the stories of the men and women from our local community who played a role in this historic war.

Meet the creative force behind this wonderful exhibit at 11am on Saturday, May 24th!

Lead Curator, Stephen Gould, Assistant Curator Tim Van Wickler, and Southampton History Museum Executive Director Sarah Kautz will all be in attendance and excited to answer any questions and hear your family’s WWII story!

The Southampton History Museum is especially grateful to the Village of Southampton, the Village Commission on Veterans Patriotic Events (aka Combined Veterans Organization), and the Southampton Cultural Center for making this pop-up exhibition possible during the restoration of Rogers Mansion.

Homefront to Battlefront: Southampton During WWII will be on view at Southampton Village’s historic Veterans Hall on Saturdays, 11 am – 4 pm, May 24 through November 29.
