On Saturday, June 25th from 6 to 10 p.m., Sylvester Manor in Shelter Island will present its annual Farm to Table Dinner, which promises to provide a unique dining and entertainment experience. All the way from Berkshire, Massachusetts, Fire Roasted catering will bring their hand-forged grills to make the entire meal by hand with open flames and wood salvaged from the Manor’s ground.

“We all love summer on Shelter Island,” said Cara Loriz of Sylvester Manor Educational Farm. “Sylvester Manor’s only big fundraising event invites our community to kick off the season by coming together and celebrating all that makes Sylvester Manor an incredible place: delicious and truly local food, music that moves you, and a connection to the East End’s heritage, all shared on our beautiful historic grounds.”

The Revelers, a Grammy-nominated band, will energize the crowd, providing foot-stomping, authentic Cajun music. They’re guaranteed to have the whole crowd dancing. The evening also includes delicious hand-made food, drinks, dance, and mingling at the Manor.
“Our guests have so much fun reuniting with friends, taking in the Manor’s gardens and waterfront, while toasting and tasting the season — gathering in this remarkable place creates a fabulous and festive atmosphere,” remarked Loriz. “Getting everyone to sit down for dinner is a challenge! But this year, all will be drawn to the open flames and aroma created by Berkshire-based Fire Roasted Catering.”

Proceeds from the event will support the Manor’s mission of cultivating, preserving, and sharing the area’s lands, buildings, and stories. “This unique eating experience is made more so by burning storm-felled wood from the Manor grounds, and incorporating our own organic produce from the Windmill Field in a delicious locavore menu,” she added. “The music of Louisiana’s The Revelers is sure to energize the evening. It’s a great party, but it also provides crucial support to the agricultural, educational and historical programs of our locally run nonprofit.”
