Healthy Eatery With Amagansett Outpost Donating Lunches To Hospitals

To provide a bit of relief to those on the frontlines of the Coronavirus pandemic, Organic Krush (OK), which has outposts in Amagansett, Woodbury, Plainview, Roslyn, and Rockville Centre, as well as Virginia, has started making special deliveries to hospitals.

Organic Krush has already dropped off bakery items and lunch – which included wraps, baked goods, wellness shots and juices – to NYU Winthrop Hospital and Northwell Sandra Atlas Bass Heart Hospital. They have also been in contact with Henrico’s Doctors Hospital in Virginia and Virginia Commonwealth University. As the Organic Krush Amagansett location is re-opening on Thursday, April 2, Organic Krush is also working on setting up a delivery date for Stony Brook Southampton Hospital.

“We both have sisters who are nurses and other family members who work the front lines,” Michelle Walrath, Organic Krush Co-Founder, shared. “It is beyond inspiring to see their dedication to caring for others. It’s such a fragile time, and it’s a helpless time, for those of watching from the sidelines.”

Hospitals that are interested in receiving a food delivery may reach out to Organic Krush. Each Organic Krush outpost will donate lunch for ten approximately every other week, while baked goods and juices will be donated as they are available.

“Food is love, and we hear the nurses and doctors are so happy to receive healthy organic food,” Walrath added. “If we can send a little bit of organic love everyday, to nurses and doctors, somewhere — It’s a small thing, but hopefully it helps everyone feel just a little bit better.”

In addition to the special deliveries to those healthcare heroes, Organic Krush is also offering a 10 percent discount to all healthcare professionals.

Currently, the healthy eatery is offering no-contact pickup and delivery options, with free delivery through DoorDash. The restaurant will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays (with the exception of Tuesdays and Wednesdays when they are closed) and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the weekends. The regular OK menu will be available, as will customizable “survival kits” – which boast immune boosting foods and beverages.
