INTERVIEW: Event Guru Elvira Grau On Space Kitchen – “The Rolls Royce Of Food Trucks” – Expanding To The Hamptons

Space Kitchen is the ultimate Hamptons solution for experiential at-home parties while maintaining social distancing rules. The state-of-the-art vehicle – known as “The Rolls Royce of Food Trucks” – is equipped with a chef’s kitchen and top of the line appliances, including a pizza oven, a 43″ LED TV and a rocking sound system. The on-site Space Kitchen team adheres to all Covid-19 guidelines and regulations, offering contactless presentations as well all disposable dishware and utensils.

The fun continues as clients can pump up any event or party with a DJ, dance floor, red carpet, balloons, step and repeat, tables, chairs, lounge furniture, décor, outdoor bar, LED tables, lighting, and special guest performers. The delectable, expertly prepared cuisine includes a variety of diverse dishes and offerings, from Asian and Mexican cuisine to pizza and Mediterranean to the highly requested Lobster Roll, and other favorites. Kids party specialties include pizza and ice cream, burgers, chicken tenders and fries, or a dedicated ice cream social.

Elvira Grau is the founder and owner of Space Kitchen as well as Space Events in NJ and Space54 in NYC. When faced with the Covid-19 pandemic, she pivoted her event business and created a solution for safe, outdoor entertaining to allow celebrations to continue with proper social distancing. If the clients can’t come to a physical space for a celebration, then her team will go to them by mobilizing the fun with an international menu and all the materials needed for an unforgettable party. We spoke to Elvira to learn more about how the Space Kitchen came to be and what clients can expect from the “Rolls Royce of Food Trucks.”

What brings Space Kitchen to the Hamptons?

EG: Since the pandemic, all the families fled to the Hamptons and we wanted to be out east to service them! The celebration doesn’t have to stop, but just has to adapted to the new times… Fun at home or at work outdoor parties – of course following all outdoor capacity rules with masks.

Are there vegetarian, kosher, and gluten-free options on the menu?

EG: Absolutely!! Clients can choose from six of the best international menus complete with kosher, vegetarian and gluten free options such as gluten free rolls, veggie burgers, veggie tacos, cauliflower pizza, and gluten free pizza.

How has COVID-19 affected your business, both positive and negative?

EG: When our extremely fashionable events and parties came to a screeching halt in March, we had to reschedule all of them to later this year and into 2021. Between the two venues, Space Events in Englewood, NJ and SPACE54 in NYC, over 100 parties have been postponed. This downtime during the pandemic gave me pause for inner reflection, new appreciation, reinvention and innovation. I knew I had to use this time wisely and be creative. So, we pivoted the business model by creating high-end experiences with Space Kitchen at the comfort of a client’s home.

Do you have any events planned at the moment?

EG: We have many outdoor events planned. Families are choosing backyard and pool parties on a smaller scale for now and Space Kitchen is the perfect solution!!

What can people expect?

EG: Hassle free, easy way to entertain your family and guests outdoors. We never go inside your home. No rentals, no mess!

What makes this food truck a “Rolls Royce” and not a say, “Toyota”? What are the most unique features of the truck?

EG: Custom designed inside and out, matte black and gold, sleek and sexy – state of the art “kitchen on wheels”, includes a booming sound system, flat screen TV, double pizza oven, double basket fryer, char grill, flat grill, refrigerator and freezer filled with Good Humor ice cream!

Is there anything else you’d like to add?

EG: This Rolls Royce of Food Truck is 140k Party on wheels! Space Kitchen can be rented out by clients with their own chef or a restaurant or chef may rent it. There is a booming sound system, 43″ LED TV can display custom menus, logos, pictures, montages. Custom white and black pinstripe 8′ canopy to protect from sun or rain. We thought of everything!! In addition if someone wants to customize their at home party, we can secure the D.J., Red Carpet, Socially Distanced LED Tables and all the bells and whistles at any of our spectacular events held indoors… We want people to continue to have FUN.
