Childhood friends Vanessa Price and Michelle McSwain have set out to dispel archaic ideas about vino – like rosé is only for the summer, the selection must match what you’re preparing and other silly notions – through their latest project, Wine In Focus.
“The show is a collection of images, both still and in motion, curated to engage fresh conversations and explore fun and new perspectives for how we view wine,” Price, who is the Creative Director and Founder of The Vinum Collective – an all-things-wine lifestyle platform created to make wine easily accessible to all, explained.
Price is also a wine columnist for NY Magazine, Diploma graduate of and instructor for The Wine & Spirit Education Trust®, importer at Maisons Marques & Domaines and teaches wine classes at Columbia University. Her co-collaborator, McSwain, is a professional lifestyle and portrait photographer, who is the coinventor of the mobile App PABLO.
“The aim of this exhibition is to demystify wine by focusing a fresh lens on the subject, bringing it into today’s contemporary lifestyle,” Price added.
An opening reception for Wine In Focus will take place on Friday, July 27 from 6 to 10 p.m., and yes, there will be plenty of wine. The exhibition will be on view at The Montauk Beach House from Thursday July 26 through Wednesday August 1.
Montauk Beach House is located at 55 South Elmwood Avenue in Montauk. For more information, visit thembh.com.
