Inside Peek at the Sag Harbor Village Location of Elements Barre Fit

The Sag Harbor flagship of Elements Barre Fit opened earlier this month, so we sat down with Andrea Fornarola, EBF’s founder, to learn more about their fitness philosophy. Elements Barre Fit is celebrating its 10th anniversary, having opened a Hamptons location in East Hampton in 2014. 

Tell me about Elements Barre Fit. What sets your workout classes and company apart from others?

Elements Barre Fit is a boutique fitness and wellness studio redefining barre, dance and stretch as total body fusion workout. All of our classes are based on a unique and signature formula authored by me, and further enhanced by our fabulous trainers. What sets apart is the sweat experience, we focus on building a strong connection with all of our clients, potential clients and community. Whether you take one class or 999 classes you are a member, and we care about you. Our mission is to transform bodies, change lives and create community, and I firmly believe we have done just this in both of our studio locations, New York, East Hampton, and now Sag Harbor!!

Congratulations on your 10-year anniversary! How has EBF changed in the years since you started operating?

Thank you so much for the “Happy Anniversary”, we are so thankful to be serving the Hamptons for 10 years. So much has changed since we launched in 2014, first and foremost, our community of clients and trainers has grown and we have truly become a fit fam. This is so important to me, and helps me to wake up everyday and teach as many pulses as one can teach in a day! Our method has also evolved, we have embraced multiple fitness modalities and have worked to incorporate these into our classes and class formulas. Most importantly, we’ve grown into multiple studio locations including Elements UES, our new Upper East Side flagship as well as Elements SAG our newest and most impressive studio located in the village of Sag Harbor, NY.

What were your hopes for EBF 10 years ago, and how has that changed or stayed the same these last 10 years?

My goal in opening Elements has always been to create a safe and comfortable space for clients and instructors to connect. I wanted to redefine barre classes, as I felt that the lotte berk method was a great foundation, and mixed with functional training it’s the perfect way to reform and reshape the body. I also wanted to create a platform in which barre fitness classes are for everyone, and people felt comfortable working out together at the same barre.

Why Sag Harbor, New York as the newest flagship location? What do you think EBF will bring to the Hamptons community?

Why Sag Harbor, well when we finally decided to leave East Hampton, Sag Harbor was the only place that I wanted to go! Sag Harbor has always been this fabulous place that I try to get to in the summer, but I am always so busy working in East Hampton, I never get to go lol. We found a fabulous location surrounded by other new Sag Harbor businesses and I knew this would be a great next step for the studio!! Sag Harbor is a very friendly and wellness centered community, it is such a beautiful place and great place to call home.

Can you give our readers a sneak peak of what they can look forward to with the opening of Elements Barre Fit: Sag Harbor?

Sag Harbor can look forward to fabulous classes and events all year long! We have a full schedule of Barre, Dance and Stretch classes planned as well as fun events, wellness partnerships, retail trunk shows, children / teen dance classes and more.

Can you walk me through a Barre class? What should our readers know about Barre workouts if they’ve never taken a workout class of this style?

 Elements signature barre/toned class is a combination of dance conditioning, pilates core work and yoga stretches utilizing the ballet barre. These classes offer the unique combination of strengthening and toning using the Ballet Barre, light weights and resistance bands. This low impact high intensity work quickly reforms and reshapes the body. If you want to get results fast, take our classes which are fast paced, upbeat and fun!

Are your class offerings for students of all levels?

ALL CLASSES ARE TAUGHT AT AN OPEN LEVEL… however, we recommend beginners or clients with injuries book a private session to learn the technique. This is the perfect class to do with your friends and family as everyone will feel comfortable in our classes.

How do you hope people feel after leaving an EBF workout class?

After one of our classes we hope our clients leave feeling strong, invigorated/energized  and like they worked every muscle in their bodies!!! Most feel excited to do more!!

Is there anything else you would like our readers to know?

We want the community to know how excited we are about our new location, and how happy we are to celebrate 10 years in a new location. We are starting a new chapter, and while change is scary, it is also exciting. Our move from East Hampton was bitter sweet, but we are so excited to grow in Sag Harbor and meet our new community at the barre year round!
