Vintage Season is officially open in the Hamptons. Evident in the crowd of smiles and “oh wow” moments, I’m clearly not alone in how much I have come to love the Hamptons Vintage Market. It’s a fantastic mix of locals and visitors, brought together by the love for the one-of-a-kind, the custom, the “ooooh, what is that…” All Summer, the Hamptons Vintage Market is an energetically curated collection of vendors and artisans with locations across the Hamptons’ many hamlets.
After attending the Summer Vintage Luxury Marketplace for three years, I am always impressed by how much love for life and art the events inspire—not just from the art and one-of-a-kind collections of vintage items but also from the vendors themselves.
Here are just a few fantastic vendors at the Hamptons Vintage Market. Check them out online and mark your calendars for the remaining Summer 2024 Hamptons Vintage Luxury Marketplace Schedule.
Oscura Luz
The jewelry is sophisticated and chic, hinting at an inner complexity to match its visual beauty. I was instantly attracted to the Oscura Luz collection. Made by hand in NYC, the artist Jen Proudman is as eloquent as she is beautiful and the perfect model for the collection. Like the name, the art reflects duality – hints of where we have been mingling with what magic is yet to come, the artist tells me. Available in Sag Harbor all Summer, you’ll be able to find Oscura Luz on July 14th and 28th.
Cristina Rueda – Colombian Home Decor
Cristina knows just what the Hamptons are looking for. She sources bespoke botanical designs from artists and handmade artisan designs that are as functional as they are beautiful. You’re going to see these placemats at dinner parties this season. Interior designers and lovers, check out this collection to add a pop of color to any Hamptons space.
Shawls by Sonika – Cashmere Shawls and Dresses
Vintage, handmade silk inlay made by artisanal workers in the Kashmir region. Sonika is an amazing resource for information about the art and production that goes into producing these one-of-a-kind garments. The discerning styles are perfect for year-round chic fashion in the Hamptons, but she also has gorgeous dresses that will be a Summer highlight.
Eden’s harvest – handmade from memory, in NYC
The Pearl of the show, Eden’s Harvest, and the artist who brings the collection to life are instantly charming. Everything is made to order and is one-of-a-kind, drawing on the artist’s life by the water and drawing inspiration and material from the sea. This is her 2nd year at the Hamptons Market and she has been working on her craft since 2017, but like her headline notes, the source inspiration is an abundance of memories born from the water, like all life.
Casa Grace – Upcycled Vintage Garments
You’re going to love this collection, I guarantee it. Sandro is a gem, and his work speaks for itself. I’ve never seen designs and patterns like these on clothes because they come from vintage tablecloths and other vintage fabrics. Sandro explains that the new items “keep the memory alive and make room for new memories.” Such a chic collection, realized masterfully with open stitches, is perfect for Summer 2024.
Ora Ana – First Collection, Jewelry
Translated as “No One,” the art speaks louder than the artist. The Ora Ana Mansion Collection consists of sterling silver-based, gold vermeil, and semi-precious gemstone-adorned jewelry. It’s a brand born out of passion, creativity, and a deep appreciation for the art of jewelry-making. This is the first collection from the stunning artist Veronika Payne. Her art is perfectly paired for the Hamptons, especially her collaboration with Surf Surf, with beachy, unisex-leaning designs that will appeal to every age. The collection is stunning and utilizes sterling silver, gold, and semi-precious stones. Ora Ana is featured among 35 black-owned jewelry brands by Homekeeping magazine.
Thread the Gnar – Handwoven by Livi Paris
This is for sure a “where did you get your bag”-bag. Probably my favorite name. Livi’s story is inspirational and a testament to the power of good art and hard work. Working with big, bold fabrics – including velvet and cotton – are available in custom-ordered style. The unmistakable style is super gnarly and would be an excellent bag for almost any occasion. Fun and unafraid to stand out, the style will surely make you smile.
Form Leather – Handmade Saddle stich Leatherwork
With a direct lineage to the world-renowned master leatherworker Hermes, the timeless elegance of saddle-stitched design speaks for itself. Merging the traditional and modern, you will love the Apple Watch accessory straps, air tag holders, and classic designs for everyone.
An Aside: Have you met the moss man? Only at the Hamptons Vintage Market will you encounter a delightful mannequin made of moss and have an even more delightful chat with its proud creator. “The Moss Man was born from a lack of models available during COVID, so we had to create our own. Shoutout to my intern who created him, but he’s been part of our studio since.” No, he is not being used as an HOV decoy.
I have to shoutout the past vendors I’ve covered who are back again this Summer. I look forward to checking out the rest of the schedule this Summer!
