Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour is rarely, if ever, questioned about her editorial choices. That was before the Kim Kardashian and Kanye West cover that sparked a media storm, leaving some to question how the duo managed to land the front of the esteemed magazine.
While the “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star has come a long way since her scandalous sex tape with Ray J, many think the cover of Vogue is beyond undeserved.
The debacle has lead to several hilarious parodies including ones from The Muppets featuring Miss Piggy and Kermit, “Today” co-hosts Al Roker and Willie Geist, and actors Seth Rogen and James Franco. The “This Is the End” co-stars also poked fun at Kimye when Yeezus released his music video for “Bound 2.”

Some are even going as far as boycotting the magazine. “The Crazy Ones” star Sarah Michelle Gellar tweeted, “Well……I guess I’m cancelling my Vogue subscription. Who is with me???”

Opinions around the water cooler at Hamptons.com are certainly polarized about the choice. “Vogue to me has always been aspirational, and this to me is anything but,” said Executive Editor & Publisher Nicole B. Brewer. “I won’t be canceling my subscription yet, however if Kate Gosselin or Honey Boo Boo ever show up on the cover, I’m canceling.” Another Hamptons.com staffer said resolutely that he, “really doesn’t give a shit about Kim Kardashian.”
So what do you think about the Kardashian/West cover? Was it deserved? Big misstep for Vogue? Genius marketing move? Tell us where you stand.
