What Could Your Attic Be Worth?

This season, the Antique Center of Southampton will be hosting a Saturday antique fair series, and antique road show style appraisal days featuring some guest antique dealers/collectors, and interior designers.

Shoppers will be able to find merchandise and tips on incorporating antiques, vintage and funky finds in their homes and as well as their wardrobes.

“If you follow trends in design, decorating and fashion, everything old becomes new again; just look at the Gatsby/Jazz Age/Art Deco style revival right now,” says Susan Allicino, the center’s manager. “A number of our dealers feature finds from this period, for instance, a beaded purse from the 30’s that, by the way, costs $300 less than a top designer’s copy I saw.”

The antique center is a collective of 32 dealer shops specializing in early 19th century through 1950’s antiques, vintage, prime decorator designs and collectibles, from furniture to jewelry to designer fashion and anything in between.

The action begins with an Outdoor Antiques Fair & Art Prints Appraisal Day with Dealer and Collector Yoav Korono on June 8 with a fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with prints for appraisal from 2:30 4 p.m. Korono specializes in 20th century American and European modern art prints, drawings, and paintings. Everyone should bring their art prints for appraisal

On June 22 and 23 visit the Antiques Center Southampton at the ”Bridgehampton Historical Society Benefit Antique Show,” on the Corwith House Grounds (2368 Montauk Highway, Bridgehampton).

Stop by July 6 for the Antiques Road-Show-Style Day and Outdoor Antiques Fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and make sure you bring your treasures to be appraised.

The final Outdoor Antiques Fair is on August 10 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. featuring a talk by interior decorator and prop stylist Donna Francis whose Amagansett home has been featured in “Time at Home” and “Country Living Magazine”.
