Friendsgiving may have come and gone, but the time to meet up with friends and enjoy seasonal merriment is still in full swing. On Saturday, December 5th, grab a group of your besties and set out to shop until you drop during the 5th Annual Friends Bazaar at Ashawagh Hall. From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., the one day only, seasonal extravaganza will offer a variety of art and fine craft items for sale, including ceramics, photography, jewelry, wood, felted knits, fiber and yarns, knits for babies and kids, scarves, hats, accessories, sachets, soaps and skin products, shoulder bags and other handmade goods.

The annual Hamptons event is absolutely adored by the local community. “The Friends Bazaar is unique,” noted Randye Lordon, Innkeeper of The 1770 House. “There’s always an eclectic group of artists and craftspeople, some familiar faces each year and some new participants.” With the countdown to gift giving season here, the gathering is a great opportunity to cross a few names off your list. “It’s terrific for gift shopping, with many small affordable items as well as larger purchases, and also a fun social event people have come to anticipate as the kick-off of the December holiday season,” shared Lordon.
With vendors showcasing exceptional goods in a variety of prices, shoppers can pick up extraordinary treasures for loved ones (or themselves). “I love the Friend’s Bazaar and never miss it,” added Christa Maiwald, winner of the 2011 Best in Show Member’s show at Guild Hall Museum. “Being a fine artist, but interested in all arts, craft, fashion, design, etc, I always find several things I like for gifts…often to myself! I wouldn’t miss it.”
Featured artists and artisans will include Bob Bachler, ceramicist and co-founder of Surface Library (gallery formerly located in Springs); East End photographers Tom Donahue and Joe Eschenberg, and several Long Island artisans, as well as local talent.
Admission to the 5th Annual Friends Bazaar is free.
