The debut of a new children’s boutique over this past spring has helped bridge the gap in the Hamptons’ children clothing offerings. Ethel + Row presents families with a modern collection of children’s apparel sourced from international and independent designers.
Vanessa Hamer is the brains behind the business. The Ethel + Row owner has a strong background in fashion public relations and retail management. Hamer is also mom to an eight-year-old son who was truly the inspiration behind the store.
“I find shopping for children in the Hamptons to be challenging. With the recent closing of several boutiques, options for parents are limited to a few brand names that are minimally supplied. School children are all wearing the same mainstream uniforms,” remarked Hamer. “The summer families who are a big portion of the local economy, are choosing to shop for their children elsewhere. We are so fortunate to live in an area that exposes us to style and expressiveness, but people tend to forget this also applies to kids.”
A few of the brands featured in Ethel + Row include Gray Label, Huxbaby, Lennon + Wolfe, Miller, Old Soles, and OMAMImini.
