On Saturday, December 3rd, Ashawagh Hall will be the gathering locale for many as the 6th Annual Friends Bazaar returns to the Hamptons – for one day only.
“From the first Friends Bazaar in 2011, the event has drawn locals, weekenders, and visitors – holiday shoppers, collectors, dealers, the curious, and those who attend without fail every single year,” explained Jamie Lerner, event producer and participant. “Old friends meet again, acquaintances are made; the atmosphere is warm and the mood festive.”

Attendees can admire and purchase a myriad of affordable original art and fine crafts. Ceramics, paintings, jewelry for women and men, photography, wood-ware and sculpture, small furniture, sachets, knits for babies and kids, scarves, hats, bags, pillows, soaps and skin products, artisanal chocolates and more will all be on display.
“Many have come to rely on the Friends Bazaar for finding one-of-a-kind handmade gifts at prices much lower than are offered in local shops or galleries,” shared Lerner. “Some of our participating artisans come from ‘up-island’ or New York City, whose work is otherwise unavailable on the East End.”

This year’s vendors include Eve Behar (ceramics), Nan Dillon (leather and fabric bags), Lula Castillo (jewelry), Steve Jones (ceramics), Dee Moore (sachets and accessories), Aileen Florell (ceramics), Betsy Peerless (knit hats), Justine Moody, (felted knit creations), Susan Kennedy (artisanal chocolates), Brian Schopfer (wood-ware), Lulu Bouvier (knits for babies and kids), Caitlin Baringer (photography), Mary Ellen Roche (paintings and cards), Merilyn Konnerth (soaps and skin products) and Jamie Lerner (jewelry for women and men).
“I always find great gifts made by Jamie at her Friends Bazaar – and usually can’t resist buying something for myself,” said Marian Lindberg, author. “For the rest of the year, I’ll often be asking myself in the morning ‘which earrings by Jamie should I wear today?'”

For Lerner, the Bazaar is an excuse to bring together the community during a joyous time of the year. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to present this event, and participate in it, in the heart of beautiful downtown Springs,” added Lerner.
Admission to the 6th Annual Friends Bazaar is free. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
