Sometimes you’re just in the mood for a burger and some comfort food, and there are not that many places to do just that and Southampton. Sure, you have McDonald’s, and you have Burger King, but if you want a classic burger and fries joint, you’ll want to check out Local Burger off of County Road 39 in Southampton.
I don’t typically go to this place for lunch, but I should. The place is located at the Southampton ice rink, which during the winter time is highly active by families in the area and during the summer time is highly active for their golf range, and their mini golf set up. It’s sort of like a kid’s place but— believe it or not—it’s a great place to seek out something delicious.
The other thing that’s cool about Local Burger is the price. A burger that tastes great is under 10 bucks, and most items on the menu are under $10. They also have excellent ice cream, and they have amazing wings. And if you’re not in the mood to have red meat, you can do it; I ordered a chicken sandwich with bacon. My favorite part about the burger is that they brand the bun, which is a nice little touch.
You may not be coming here for the ambiance, but if you have kids or are looking for a place to grab lunch for under 15 bucks while you’re at work, they should be on your list of places to go when the mood strikes for a cheeseburger and french fries and if you’re feeling dangerous top it off with some ice cream.
And you can always work off the burger by ice-skating when you’re done.
