Memorial Day Weekend is here! You know what that means—parties, lots of parties. The Hamptons come alive in the summer, with a benefit, gala, or typical Hamptons party at a stunning home happening every week.
While you may have found the perfect outfit after a day of shopping in East Hampton, Sag Harbor, or Southampton, you might still be missing a key element: makeup.
Professional makeup artist Pamela, also known as @glammedbypam_nyc, sat down with Hamptons.com to share her top tips for perfecting the Hamptons Party Look.
Step 1: PREP
The first and most important step in all looks is to prep the skin! First, clean/cleanse the face, and it’s best to use a cotton round because it helps exfoliate the skin! Allow for a little dry time, then apply your preferred moisturizer. I recommend Kiehl’s!
Tip: Don’t make the mistake of thinking you must moisturize less because you sweat more during the summer; it’s important to be consistent!
Step 2: FOUNDATION
During the summer, it’s best to use lightweight foundations, especially sweat-proof foundations! I recommend Rare Beauty, hourglass, Laura Mercier, and Estée Lauder foundations for light-medium coverage. (My personal fave)-rare beauty tinted moisturizer
For fuller coverage, summer-friendly foundations, Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless, Haus Labs, and NARS waterproof full coverage.
Extras: Foundations with SPF, IT cosmetics, Super Goop skin tint, Kosas
Step 3: BLUSH
It’s great to start with a cream blush because it sinks into the skin. I recommend a shade that is similar to the inside of your bottom lip!
I also recommend topping that off with a powder blush similar in shade so that it can help set the skin and absorb moisture.
Step 4: BRONZER
In the summer, creams are best because they blend better and melt into the skin, creating that tan summer glow!
EYE MAKE UP
With fair/ light skin
Eyeshadows: colors that pair nicely would be pinks, generally lighter pinks and beige! If you’d like a little bit of color, soft green will do the job!
Adding shimmer will lightly bolden the look I suggest champagne or pearl!
With warm tone skin
Eyeshadows: All shades of brown! My preferred is a warm brown with some orange/red undertones. For some color, I suggest darker blues!
Adding gold shimmer on the corner or all over the eyes will enhance the look!
Tips:
If you are more on the oily side or worried about sweating, set face with translucent powder
For the lips, in summer, it is best to use a lip balm such as Summer Fridays or a classic lip pencil with your favorite Vaseline!
Lastly, Top off everything with a setting spray; I suggest the milk hydrating setting spray and the one-size!! It will keep your makeup looking fresh,
