“East Hampton Little League has played a big part in the childhoods of so many,” noted Steven Minskoff, East Hampton Little League President. “Adults who played decades ago are now joining their children on the fields of the East End.”
In preparation of its upcoming season, East Hampton Little League and Harbor Grill will present the League’s annual fundraiser on Thursday, March 3rd at the East Hampton restaurant. “We’re thrilled to be a part of this continued tradition,” said Minskoff. “Our fundraiser helps us to keep player fees low, provide needed equipment, and grant scholarships to those in need.” From 6 to 9 p.m., guests will enjoy an appetizer buffet, paired with select bottled beers, wines and non-alcoholic beverages, and partygoers can take a chance for a good cause with the 50/50 raffle and silent auction featuring gift certificates to East Hampton Grill, Indian Wells Tavern and Harbor Bistro, a round of golf, and more.
Each year, more than 300 players take the field for a little friendly competition between teams. Minskoff says the Little League never turns a kid away because they can’t afford the registration fee, making the funds raised at the benefit crucial. “Every bit helps,” added Minskoff. “People in the community are very generous.”

For Damien O’Donnell, Chef and Owner of Harbor Grill, hosting the fundraiser at his restaurant is a no-brainer. “Being such a local family friendly restaurant and having roots in the East Hampton area, we are happy to contribute any way possible when it comes to community, especially the kids,” explained O’Donnell. “Little League gives kids the opportunity to grow in ability, confidence and to understand the meaning of a team, you can’t put a price on that.” It’s also a cause that hits very close to home for him. “I have two girls of my own who I coach in the league and we are happy to be able to use our facility as a means to better the East Hampton Little League program whenever possible,” he added. “Little League baseball and softball is an American tradition that sustains with the help of volunteers and local businesses that contribute and do their part to keep the game alive. We are happy to do our part at Harbor Grill.”
East Hampton Little League is open to softball and baseball players within the ages of 7 to 12, who reside in the hamlets of East Hampton, Springs, Amagansett and Montauk.
Admission to the fundraiser is $25 per person.
