Fifth Harmony Headlining Third Annual VH1 Save the Music Hamptons Live Benefit Concert

VH1’s Save the Music Hamptons event will return for its third year this August in order to raise money for music education in public schools. This year, the all-female group Fifth Harmony will headline the event, and there will also be a special set by DJ Cassidy, who has performed at events ranging from President Obama’s inauguration and Oprah Winfrey’s school opening, as well as alongside musical legends such as Beyonce, Jay-Z, Kanye West, Usher, and more. Fifth Harmony will be performing at the event as one of the stops on their North American tour, 7/27, which kicked off on July 27th.

The Save the Music Foundation has been raising money for almost two decades to restore music education programs in schools, and raise awareness about the importance of music as a part of a child’s complete education. Founded in 1997, VH1’s Save the Music Foundation has dedicated its existence to restoring music programs in American schools, and has donated over $52 million worth of instruments to 1,964 public schools in 233 districts around the country in its pursuit of that goal.

“As we near our 20th anniversary, The Foundation remains committed to providing every student in America with access to a quality music education,” said Henry Donahue, executive director of VH1 Save The Music Foundation. “We would also like to acknowledge that we could not make a difference in the lives of millions of students without the generous support of our community, leaders like Julie and Billy and dedicated talent like Fifth Harmony and DJ Cassidy.”

Last year, the event featured Jason Derulo, whose performance helped the Foundation restore music education classes in public schools across the country, and even resulted in a piano donation to the local East Quogue Elementary School.

The Foundation hopes to hold its most successful fundraiser yet. VH1 Save The Music Board Member, Julie Macklowe, her husband Billy Macklowe, and President of VH1 and Logo TV, Chris McCarthy will serve as co-chairs. “Each summer, we have thoroughly enjoyed supporting VH1 Save The Music’s noble efforts to keep music alive in schools,” said Julie Macklowe. “There is no better way to wrap up summer than with dancing the night away in the Hamptons and supporting a noteworthy cause.”

The exclusive event will take place at the private residence of a Foundation Board Member. The night will be a great way to see some live music and dance for a good cause to celebrate the end of summer.
