Are you all in?! Get ready to up the ante and play the hand you’re dealt, even when the chips are down, during the 4th annual Southampton Kiwanis No Limit Texas Hold’em Poker Event on Saturday, November 5th at the Southampton Elks Lodge. Doors open at 6 p.m. and cards are in the air at 7 p.m. sharp! All participants are given a 3,000 starting stack and there is a $100 buy in cost. If you pre-register in advance, you’ll receive 500 bonus chips.
In addition to the high-stakes tournament, there will also be an open bar and dinner. Poker tournament players who walk away with the most blue poker chips will have the chance to win a trip to Vegas for two with airfare, a 50-inch flat screen TV, and thousands of other prizes! So make sure to watch out for a four flusher.
“When I made a decision to do more for my community eight years ago, I reviewed the local clubs, Lions, Rotary, Fire Department, etc., but what helped shape my decision were my two small children,” remarked Scott Wilson of the Kiwanis Club. “While all the local clubs here in Southampton are worthy organizations, the beautiful thing about Kiwanis in particular is that their only focus is helping children.”

The Kiwanis Club “is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time.” There are more than 8,600 Kiwanis Clubs with nearly 300,000 members in 94 nations and geographic areas. The Southampton-based club is involved with a multitude of East End projects. Some of which include distributing dictionaries to local 3rd grade students at Hampton Bays, Southampton, Sag Harbor, Bridgehampton, Tuckahoe and Our Lady of the Hamptons schools, holiday food baskets, and much more.
