East End Arts To Host Spring Gala In Honor Of Senator Kenneth LaValle, Rev. Maryanne McElroy, And Peconic Landing

On Saturday, May 6, from 6 to 11 p.m., East End Arts (EEA) will celebrate Senator Kenneth P. LaValle, Reverend Maryanne McElroy and Peconic Landing during its annual Spring Gala at the Suffolk Theater in Riverhead. This Gala will provide East End Arts with the opportunity to recognize and highlight patrons of the arts in our community. This year, EEA will pay tribute to honorees who exhibit leadership in advancing the East End community by providing access to the arts through service, corporate philanthropy, government advocacy, or through their specific work in art and music.

Senator Kenneth P. LaValle serves as a New York State Senator in District 1, which comprises of five East End towns of Long Island. Reverend Maryanne McElroy has worked as the Artistic Director of EEA’s Harvest Gospel Concert for the past 30 years. Rev. McElroy is a music shop proprietor, piano and voice teacher, and a choir director of the Friendship Baptist Church. Peconic Landing has had a longstanding partnership with EEA and contributed to the installation of a sculpture garden on the Peconic Landing grounds, including work with ongoing community cultural arts program, and a collaboration on the award-winning Music by the Bedside program.

The Gala proceeds will support the future of the arts on the East End. Guests of the Gala can expect cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, dinner and dancing with Trevor Davison Orchestra, and live and silent auctions with Allan Newman. Funds raised at ARTworks 2017 support EEA’s mission to build and enrich the community through the arts through education, support, advocacy, and inspiration.
