Southampton Historical Museum’s annual Halsey House Gala will celebrate Southampton’s oldest home on Saturday, July 8 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. The neighborly lawn party takes place at the Thomas Halsey Homestead, which was established in 1648 by one of the Town’s founding families. Attendees of this year’s Sur la Plage themed fundraiser will enjoy sunset cocktails amid a colonial landscape and herb garden. Inside the tent, friends can enjoy the beachside atmosphere while hors d’oeuvres from locally-sourced farms and bays will be served. Music is by DJ Twilo, so dancing is most definitely encouraged!
“Our Honorary Chair Steven Stolman has enhanced the festive atmosphere with a beach theme, new food and a bountiful gift bag. Neck ties and high heels are not encouraged,” said Tom Edmonds, Executive Director of Southampton Historical Museum. “This party is the most fun you will have all summer!”
Throughout the evening there will be a curated silent auction that offers the essentials of the Hamptons lifestyle, like a cocktail cruise on a wooden sailboat, work by local artists, bountiful baskets of organic produce, and a private dinner inside Halsey House.

The Southampton Colonial Society (now known as the Southampton Historical Museum) was founded in 1898 and incorporated in 1910. The Society collected and exhibited historical objects and documents during its early stages and slowly expanded over the last century. Today, the Society is in charge of preserving The Thomas Halsey Homestead (built in 1660), the Pelletrau Shop (build in the 1600s), and the Rogers Mansion (built in 1648). The Southampton Historical Museum’s work keeps some of Southampton’s most precious qualities intact amidst a world that is rapidly changing and developing.
Tickets to the Halsey House Gala are $150 in advance and $175 at the door. If you’re a guest between the ages of 16-years-old to 30-years-old, tickets are $50. Tickets are $20 for guests 15-years-old and under.
