East Hampton’s Share The Harvest Farm Hosting St. Patrick’s Day Benefit Concert At Stephen Talkhouse

What better way to commemorate the “greenest” day of the year – St. Patrick’s Day – than joining a local non-profit that focuses on fighting hunger on the East End through sustainable farming practice for an epic fundraiser headlined by local favorites?

The St. Patrick’s Day Benefit Concert for Share the Harvest Farm will take over the Stephen Talkhouse in Amagansett on Saturday, March 17. Featured musicians include Fred Raimondo, Inda Eaton, Nancy Remkus, Sarah Greene and Cynthia Daniels, Job Potter, and Rorie Kelly, and the benefit will take place from 7 to 9 p.m.

“I’m very excited that this wonderful group of songwriters has agreed to come together to share their songs and stories to benefit Share the Harvest Farm,” Raimondo said. “There is a tremendous community of original musicians and songwriters on the East End and Long Island in general. They are always generous in giving their time and creativity to support causes such as Share the Harvest.”

“I’m very excited to be joining forces with so many wonderful singers and songwriters playing to benefit Share the Harvest. This is such a great organization helping to fight hunger on the East End,” Remkus added. “I’m also excited that the musicians from the Songwriters Share concert series are standing together as a group to help support local charities. I think that this will be a fun night supporting a great cause.”

Share the Harvest Farm, a non-profit farming organization, was founded in 2010. Its mission is to “grow high-quality produce for donation to local food pantries and other organizations, to increase access for all to healthy products, and to raise awareness about food insecurity on the East End.” Share the Harvest Farm grows thousands of pounds of fresh, incredibly nutritious vegetables and herbs, which it donates to local organizations that aid children, seniors, disabled people, and low-income working families, including South Fork food pantries, affordable housing complexes, The Retreat women’s shelter, East Hampton Town Senior Citizens Nutrition Center, Eleanor Whitmore Early Childhood Center, East Hampton’s public pre-k program, and Montauk Community Garden at St. Therese de Lisieux Parish Center. The organization started off farming just half an acre, and has expanded to seven acres, which are located in East Hampton.

“Share the Harvest appreciates the generosity of the musicians and sponsors who are coming together to support our efforts to provide fresh, organic produce to hundreds of East End residents all year,” shared Jess Tonn of Share the Harvest Farm. “We can’t think of a better way to spend the ‘greenest’ night of the year than by listening to great local music and celebrating our ‘green’ mission to feed local families in need using sustainable farming practices.”

Admission to the St. Patrick’s Day Benefit Concert is $20, and tickets will be available at the door.

“It promises to be an amazing evening!” Raimondo added.
