The Montauk Village Association Hosting The Greenery Scenery

The Montauk Village Association will host its annual summer benefit party, The Greenery Scenery, on Friday, August 17 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Montauk Lake Club and Marina.

The annual benefit has successfully raised funds help to preserve Montauk as part of the Association’s mission to plant and maintain flower beds and park benches – including the Memorial Garden, as well as keep the public areas clean and provide scholarships to local students. This year’s soiree will celebrate George Biondo and David Friend.

The non-profit organization, founded in 1961, also works with the Town of East Hampton in order to keep Montauk at its best for locals and visitors alike.

“The Montauk Village Association is Montauk’s oldest non-profit civic organization,” members of the Montauk Village Association noted. “The organization is directed by a group of dedicated, concerned volunteers who have the desire to care for and maintain our quaint village of Montauk. It is our mission to preserve Montauk’s unique beauty by planting and maintaining flower beds and trees throughout the downtown area and maintaining teak benches, as well as Montauk’s Memorial Garden.”

The Greenery Scenery Cocktail Party will include a live auction, featuring restaurant certificates, sports tickets, theater passes, artwork, jewelry, and getaways. One of the other big draws of this event is the celebrity bartenders. Past guest bartenders have included Dick Cavett, Lauren Bacall, Dina Merrill, Julianne Moore, Aida Turturro, Cliff Robertson, Christie Brinkley, Lynn Barrie, Billy Squier and Edward Albee.

This year, there will be a celebrity tip battle – where celebrities collect tips and the celebrity that collects the most to donate wins.

“Our organization is driven to help keep all public areas clean and green!” Association members added. “As you know, our lovely town of Montauk has become more popular with many more visitors than we have ever had before! Ultimately we strive to do the greater good for our community and would appreciate your support now more than ever! Each year we successfully reach our goals by hosting our annual benefit cocktail party.”

Live music for The Greenery Scenery will be provided by the Gammon Band.

Tickets to The Greenery Scenery are $135 in advance and $150 at the door.
