Alice + Olivia hosted an electric star-studded event in the midst of Pride Month. Guests arrived at the soiree at Industria Studios in the Meatpacking District and were immediately welcomed by a colorful entrance. “Rainbow chic” was the expected dress code and stars, models, and socialites flooded the event dressed in every color imaginable. Alice + Olivia, a clothing company founded by Stacey Bendet, is known for eclectic, colorful, and bold pieces. It is for that reason that so many celebrities like Sofia Richie and Nicky Hilton Rothschild, who were in attendance this year, wore the memorable pieces. The evening benefitted The Trevor Project, an American non-profit organization founded in 1998, that is focused on suicide prevention efforts among lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning youth.

“The Trevor Project is an amazing organization that helps LGBTQ youth, we have a call to action division of our company called the Alice + Olivia Community and we make T-shirts that support and promote a variety of organizations,” remarked Stacey Bendet, CEO of Alice + Olivia. “We felt their group was the perfect organization to donate the proceeds of our pride T-shirt’s to!”
The event featured a bar decorated in classic candy brands and was lined with a rainbow Svedka. Waiters walked the floors with pizza boxes filled with heart shaped pizzas that read “PRIDE.” The food and drink was a hit nonetheless. Guests enjoyed making tie-dye jeans, t-shirts, and socks thanks to Murder Bravado, while Allswells brought a colorfully decorated mattress that served as a popular photo opportunity. DJ’s Ruby Aldridge and Lady Bunny kept the party alive with their music and entertainment.
Stacey Bendet was joined by an impressive line-up of industry friends including: Sofia Richie, Dominique Jackson, Aquaria, Ruby Aldridge, Richie Shazam, Huma Abedin, Nicky Hilton Rothschild, Lady Bunny, Mia Moretti, Leigh Lezark, Jenny Mollen Biggs, Jason Biggs, Margot, Amanda Googe, Ken Downing, Emm Arruda, Issa Lish, Julia Van Os, Marija Zezelj, Dani Evans, Jovel Ramos, Amirah Kassem, Deray McKesson, Maripol, Jeanette Hayes, Satchel Lee, Caroline D’Arcy Gorman, Blu Detiger, Molly Austin, Venus X, Tessa Hilton, Alexis Jae, Jenné Lombardo, Harvey Newton-Haydon, Scottie Thompson, Sabine Heller, Chiara de Rege, Marina Bejarno, and many others.

Alice + Olivia is known for the vibrant colors in your designs which reminds me of the rainbow flag that symbolizes LGBTQ Pride. What does celebrating Pride mean to the Alice + Olivia team and how have you all participated?
SB: Alice + olivia is a brand that is known for its us of color and also using fashion to promote and encourage positivity and inclusivity—-pride ties into all of this! It’s about using fashion to uplift and empower!

Brands evolve over the years, but what is the one thing that has remained true since launching the business in 2002?
SB: We have always been a brand promoting positivity and empowerment! I’ve always believed that fashion is an art each day, that outfits are a way of expressing oneself to the world… our brand has stayed true to this vision!
