With wicked winter weather seeming like it would never end, it is finally time to celebrate the start of the Hamptons season and might as well kick it off with a bang. Here’s what’s happening in the Hamptons over Memorial Day weekend.
On Sunday at The Surf Lodge (183 Edgemere Street, Montauk, 631-668-1562, www.thesurflodge.com), Portugal. The Man who recently jammed at Coachella will be rocking the Surf Lodge Band Stage.
The Backyard Restaurant at Solé East (90 Second House Road, Montauk, 631-668-2105, www.soleeast.com) has a weekend full of music planned starting on Friday, May 24, with a performance from Montauk favorites Jettykoon at 8 p.m. followed by a DJ starting at 10 p.m. On Saturday, May 25 unwind poolside with DJ music from 1 to 6 p.m. and starting back up again at 10 p.m. On Sunday, May 26 enjoy a Jazz and Bosso Nova Brunch with music by Ludmilla and Marcello and poolside music again from 1 to 6 p.m. and then at 10 p.m.
This season Rushmeyer’s (161 Second House Road, Montauk, 631-668-2877, www.kingandgrove.com) is starting a new tradition with Reggae Sundays. They are kicking off the season with the Rockaway Plate Lunch Truck Yard Party on Sunday May 26 with Mike D from the Beastie Boys and Creative Director of Rushmeyer’s Robert McKinley. The party will benefit Waves for Water and The Rockaway Plate Lunch Truck.

Stop by Gurney’s Inn (290 Old Montauk Highway, Montauk, 631-668-2345, www.gurneysinn.com) for the return of the Day & Night brunch party to the Hamptons on Saturday May 25 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The not to be missed brunch will include a member of the Dual Groupe skydiving to deliver a Magnum of Dom Perignon Rose Luminous.
Sloppy Tuna (148 South Emerson Avenue, Montauk, 631-647-8000, www.thesloppytuna.com) is celebrating the start of summer with ladies night on Friday, May 24 from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m. with music by Dj Noid and on Saturday, May 25 celebrate the launch of Grant Monahan’s Book “View from the Window”.
Maximum Rhythm ‘n’ Twang with Gene Casey and the Lone Sharks are performing at Zum Schneider Montauk (4 South Elmwood Avenue, Montauk, 631-238-5963, www.zumschneider.com ) starting at 9 p.m. on Sunday, May 26.
For live music head to The Stephen Talkhouse (161 Main Street, Amagansett, 631-267-3117, www.stephentalkhouse.com) where on Friday, May 24, Howie Day will perform at 8 p.m. and The Counterfeiters will perform at 11 p.m. On Saturday at 8 p.m. Big Head Todd & The Monsters will perform and Rubix Kube are performing at 11 p.m. On Sunday, May 26 Lez Zeppelin will perform at 8 p.m. and Booga Sugar will perform at 11 p.m.

After a three year hiatus Pink Elephant (44 Three Mile Harbor Road, East Hampton, www.pinkelephantclub.com) returns to the Hamptons with a killer lineup. On Friday, May 24, Bambi will be bringing the beats, on Saturday, May 25, Starkillers will be spinning and on Sunday, May 26, join NYC DJ duo The Chainsmokers.
SL East (44 Three Mile Harbor Road, emmgrp.com) is kicking off their Hamptons season with a special performance from DJ Jesse Marco on Saturday, May 25 and London-based DJ duo NERVO on Sunday, May 26.
Join supermodel Jessica White at Georgica (108 Wainscott Stone Road, 631-537-6255, www.georgicarestaurant.com) for the Angel Wings Foundation bash on Sunday, May 26. Enjoy dinner, dancing, and more at the event which benefits Delete Blood Cancer, a non-profit leading the fight to end blood cancer.
South Pointe (125 Tuckahoe Lane, 917-574-4112) is starting the season on Friday, May 24, with DJ M. Ortiz and Mr. Glenn.
