“Ilegal Mezcal is deeply rooted in music,” noted Kaylan Rexer, Creative Director of Ilegal Mezcal. “Café No Sé the bar the brand was born from has live music every night and has almost everyday since John Rexer opened its door.”
This summer, Ilegal has teamed up with The Surf Lodge to bring the Ilegal Music Series to Montauk. A fun way to kickoff the weekend a little early, the Thursday night performances feature up-and-coming, as well as established artists. The series, which has established roots in five venues across New York City, Los Angeles, and Guatemala, made its Hamptons debut over Memorial Day weekend, with a performance by Mac DeMarco.
“It is a space for emerging artists to experiment, an environment that forges a real connection between the artist and audience,” noted Rexer. “We have tried to create that same vibe in the venues we work with for the Ilegal Music Series in New York and LA.”
