You don’t need to travel all the way to Munich to enjoy the legendary folk festival. Several East End spots are hosting their own Oktoberfest parties, so find your lederhosen, and get ready to down a pint and eat some traditional German cuisine.

East End Oktoberfest bashes begin with the 7th Annual Oktoberfest Kick Off Festival at Rowdy Hall (10 Main Street in the Parrish Mews, East Hampton, 631-324-8555, www.rowdyhall.com). The festivities debut on Saturday, September 19th with a traditional Oktoberfest festival from 3 to 5 p.m. The East Hampton restaurant will be transformed into a traditional German beer garden with picnic tables in the courtyard and communal dining tables in the dining room. Patrons can nosh on German bar snacks like fresh baked pretzels with mustard, knockwurst, bratwurst and bockwurst platters and listen to Bavarian music in the courtyard alongside a WEHM live broadcast with Anthony from 4 to 6 p.m. Rowdy Hall will continue the Oktoberfest celebrations with daily fester preis (prix fixe) specials through Sunday, October 4th.
Southampton Publick House (40 Bowden Square, Southampton, 631-283-2800, www.publick.com) is holding its Oktoberfest on Friday, October 2nd from 6 to 9 p.m. Celebrate the tapping of Publick House’s Oktoberfest Lager while you enjoy German fare in the dining room.
Zum Schneider Montauk (4 South Elmwood Avenue, Montauk, 631-238-5963, zumschneider.com), the Bavarian Bierhaus and German Restaurant, is holding several Oktoberfest events. Along with Oktoberfest fare like Wiesn Hendl (broiled chicken), Haxn (pork shank), and Riesenbrezn (giant pretzels), and imported Oktoberfest beers, the celebration will feature live music with Mösl Franzi and the JaJaJa’s. Oktoberfest happenings will be held on Saturday, October 17th from 12 to 11 p.m., Sunday, October 18th from 12 to 7 p.m., Saturday, October 24th from 12 to 11 p.m., and Sunday, October 25th from 12 to 7 p.m.
Riverhead’s 1st annual Oktoberfest Pub Crawl will take place on Sunday, October 18th from 12 to 8 p.m. Costumes are strongly encouraged during the inaugural event, which will take attendees on a pub crawl along Main Street in Riverhead. For more information, visit www.suffolktheater.com.

Garden of Eve (4558 Sound Avenue, Riverhead, 631-722-8777, www.gardenofevefarm.com) is holding their 2nd Annual East End Oktoberfest on Saturday, October 24th and Sunday, October 25th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Attendees will enjoy local craft beer, live music, hayrides, pony rides, pumpkin picking, farm tours, vendors, and more during the benefit event supporting benefiting WUSB radio.
