Each summer, it seems as though a whole new bunch of nightlight options appear in the Hamptons, however, one mainstay is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.
“We started at Beach Bar in 1993 at a location that had changed hands multiple times in the years prior (sound familiar?),” noted Scott W. Spanburgh, owner of Beach Bar in Hampton Bays. “The concept was simple, a surfer theme, indoor outdoor venue and lots of fun bartenders. We haven’t strayed from that mission and the results speak for themselves.”
As 2017 marks Beach Bar’s 25th birthday, clearly that laid-back vibe has been embraced by Hamptons visitors and locals alike, with its “summertime fun with great DJ’s, friendly staff and the biggest indoor outdoor venue in the Hamptons” attracting a packed house weekend after weekend.
The Hampton Bays mainstay is ready to get the 2017 party started during a back-to-back Season Opening Party on Friday, May 19 and Saturday, May 20, with music by DJ Doug.
“Some say the Hamptons party scene is dead, some say it’s not like the good old days, but we say step inside our place any Friday or Saturday night in the summer and you will see a packed club with people from the Island, New York City, Connecticut and New Jersey and beyond doing what 20 somethings do best on the weekend… having FUN!!!!,” added Spanburgh.
Memorial Day weekend will bring the return of The Drift Inn – who will once again have a summer residency at Beach Bar on Saturdays.
“Beach Bar seems to have outlasted most (if not all) the clubs in Southampton because we still throw a killer party,” said Spanburgh.
Their annual Christmas in July party has become a must attend for many, and this year Beach Bar will add a St. Patrick’s Night, which will be held over the third weekend in July.
And, if you’re looking for a place to kick back and relax after the beach, Beach Bar’s restaurant, Shuckers Lobster and Clam Bar, opens Saturday, May 20th.
“25 years is definitely a milestone in any neck of the woods but in the Hamptons it’s an eternity,” added Spanburgh.
