The Parrish Art Museum in Water Mill offers guided tours every Saturday. Currently on view is Mel Kendrick: Seeing Things in Things. The work is an exploration of how the artist “exploits the essential properties of his selected medium to create sculptures that inherently lay bare the process by which they were made.”
The Museum offers guided tours at 2pm every Saturday, led by the museum’s docents, who meet each tour group and take them through the current exhibit. Parrish Education Director Martha Stotzky explains that during the tour, the docents like to point out pieces they particularly enjoy. “The guided tours are a dialogue about the artist and the work,” she says.
On Saturday, January 14th, from 3 to 4pm in the museum’s Lichtenstein Theater, Mel Kendrick, along with fellow artist and friend Carroll Dunham, will explore their respective careers as artists and approaches to artmaking.
The Kendrick exhibit is on view through February 19th.
