Join the East Hampton Historical Society for its 2018 House & Garden Tour.
As per usual, before touring the spectacular homes – this year will boast five – attendees are invited to the kick-off Cocktail Party on Friday, November 23, which will take place at the Maidstone Club in East Hampton from 6 to 8 p.m. The self-guided tour will take place on Saturday, November 24 from 1 to 4 p.m.
“The House & Garden Tour is one of our most important fund-raisers,” event chairman Joseph Aversano reflected. “This year’s tour is a visual feast of stylish houses.”
The David Huntting House, which was constructed circa 1800, is a stunning step back into history. Situated in East Hampton’s Historic District, the magnificent shingled house underwent a major renovation and restoration during the past two years.
The William H. Babcock House, another historical gem, was built circa 1720. The South-of-the-Highway residence was originally located on Main Street, but was moved to its current location in 1964. Its owners tapped East End architect Kitty McCoy to oversee renovations, which took place in 2016/2017. The charm of this historic timber frame house is accentuated with modern updates.

The House Tour curveball is an exclusive Adirondack resort, custom-built residence that is surrounded by majestic white pines. The rustic oasis includes a stately great hall, exceptional formal dining room, and several outdoor flagstone patios.

As its owner, Ms Della Femina, adores estate sales, over three quarters of the furniture and decorative items were discovered at local estate sales.
“So, while you’re breathing in the sea air and enjoying the varied terrains and architectural styles, your dollars will support the East Hampton Historical Society’s museums and programs,” he said.
Tickets to the Opening Night Cocktail Party are $200 each, which includes entry to the House Tour the following day. Tickets to the East Hampton House & Garden Tour are $65 in advance and $75 on the day of the tour.
