Serena & Lily’s Inaugural Holiday House experience is live from now through the New Year. It is a series of installations across 16 design shops all over the country that capture the spirit of the holiday season.
SVP of Customer Experience, Allyson McGrath says, “Serena & Lily is a design-driven luxury interiors brand inspiring discerning customers with timeless products and personalized service to create homes of their own. Known for its casual yet sophisticated look with a polished coastal aesthetic, the brand inspires customers with a distinct, optimistic point of view that embodies relaxed elegance.” Their categories include furniture, bedding, rugs, pillows, wallpaper, lighting, art, and décor.
The company is headquartered in Sausalito, California, and there are 17 design shops located across the U.S. With the Holiday House happening now, each location is featuring a unique holiday experience. Allyson says, “We wanted to share inspiration through the creative lens of our favorite designers on how to celebrate the holidays at home.”
One of the locations featured for the Holiday House is Mabley Handler Interior Design located in Wainscott. Allyson spoke about how they were able to capture the spirit of the holidays, saying, “We’re thrilled to see how Mabley Handler transformed the Hamptons Design Shop’s summer coastal vibe into a cozy holiday space with a neutral and deep green palette for an inviting, festive mood.” She went on to say, “Each of the other Design Shop locations feature delightful holiday experiences that are unique to its region, ranging from Palm Beach pastels and European influences to New England winters and Christmas on the California coast.”
Jennifer Mabley and Austin Handler of Mabley Handler spoke more about their Holiday House Design Shop, their favorite elements of design, and what they hope individuals will remember about the holiday season.
Can you tell us about Mabley Handler’s vignette for the design shop?
MH: We wanted to create a festive, cozy, coastal holiday space incorporating texture and pattern with colorful touches.
What are your favorite elements of the vignette?
MH: We loved the bar and dining set up, as it felt like a holiday party was on deck with all of the accouterments!

Do you have any favorite projects you have worked on over the years that stood out?
MH: We love working with vendors and suppliers in a way that complements both brands. We also loved collaborating with Serena & Lily 3 years ago at the Hampton Designer Showhouse.
What’s different about the inaugural Holiday House than your other projects?
MH: We enjoyed having an “in store” project that allowed us to collaborate with the amazing Serena & Lily Wainscot team. Our vignette feels like a home but was also designed with a community in mind.
What’s different about design in the Hamptons that can’t be found elsewhere?
MH: Hamptons design has been evolving over the 20 years we have been out east. The style is always consistently elegant with a casual undertone. It is truly special to our coastal location and must be experienced to understand.
What sets Mabley Handler apart from other interior designers?
MH: Ha! Well, that’s a direct question! We are just ourselves; we love what we do and make ourselves accessible to our clients at a high level. Design is in our DNA, and we just want to make the world a little chicer, one project at a time.
What do you want people to take away from the Holiday House?
MH: Be grateful, be generous, and surround yourself with comfort and FAMILY. Remember that many people need extra love this time of year. A beautiful backdrop is only a backdrop… It’s what you do with it and who you share it with that makes the memories.
