The Southampton Animal Shelter is hosting a Happy Mew Year open house on Saturday, January 7th, from 11 am to 2 pm. The event will showcase the Shelter’s adoptable cats, including a raffle, bake sale, and hot cocoa donated by Hampton Coffee Company. Attendees are asked to bring a can of cat food to donate.
The Animal Shelter’s Executive Director, Patricia Deshong, explained that Happy Mew Year is an open house to promote the Shelter’s available cats. “We currently have about 80 adoptable cats,” she noted. “Cats are easy to care for – they don’t need to be walked, for one thing – and they make great pets and good companions.” The cats are well cared for at the Shelter until they find their forever homes.
