LTV Studios is celebrating its 40th year and has a wonderful roster of events planned. One coming up this weekend is of the South Fork Performing Arts, a 501c3 nonprofit youth performing arts education company. This weekend, at LTV Studios, be ready to be cast into a world of wonder and whimsy with “The Wizard Of Oz.”
A wonderful development is that for the first time ever, SFPA is combining its junior and senior casts for this timeless musical. The audience will enjoy the many talented performers ranging from ages 8 to 18. These zealous and enthusiastic young developing stars will be representing the local school districts of Southampton, Sag Harbor, Springs, East Hampton, and Ross School.
The beauty of programming like this is watching pure talent being refined, taught, and performed with excellence. According to the show’s Director Tamara Salkin, who was kind enough to share the fact that, “This year there will be three graduating seniors who will take their final bow with SFPA on Saturday night. Nicole Seitz (Wicked Witch Of The West) will be attending Emerson College for Visual Media Arts Production in the fall. Siena Link-Morse (Cowardly Lion) will be attending NYU Tisch School of the Arts for Drama, and Dakota Quackenbush (Dorothy Gale) will be attending Emerson College for Drama and Performance. Come journey with us somewhere over the rainbow, beyond the yellow brick road, this weekend at LTV.”
Make note that the performances are this Friday, April 19th, at 7:00 PM and this Saturday, April 20th, at 2:00 PM and 7:00 PM and will be held in LTV Studio 3, located at 75 Industrial Rd., Wainscott, NY. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at www.Southforkperformingarts.org/tickets.
LTV Creative Director, Josh Gladstone, added that “LTV Studios in Wainscott, with its funky, flexible black box Studio 3 stage, is positioning itself as the ‘downtown, Off Broadway’ of the Hamptons. Hosting a wildly eclectic mix of World Music, world-class Broadway and cabaret stars, East End Underground rock & blues concerts, new plays and developing theater projects, community and political gatherings, and even late-night raves – LTV is a hotspot for local artists as well as some national and international surprises.”
LTV Studios, while celebrating 40 years of business, will be hosting various series and events throughout the spring and summer season. The five series include: Playwrights’ Theatre of East Hampton, Hamptons Songbook Series, LTV’s World Voices Series, East End Underground Live Concert Series, and Friday Family Frolics. The schedule of events is always subject to change and formation.
Coming up next week is the very exciting; Playwrights’ Theatre of East Hampton in association with Kassar Productions presenting, “The Pillowman,” starring Sawyer Spielberg, John Kroft, Edward Kassar, and Joe Pallister. Anyone familiar with local East End theater will know these fine actors for their huge body of work, especially in the Hamptons. Actually, Sawyer Spielberg and his wife Raye Levine recently starred and helped produce the full-length film, “Merry Good Enough Christmas,” many believe it will become a Christmas Classic yet enjoyed any time of the year. It will run from Thursday, April 25th through Sunday, May 5th at 7:30pm.
