Veteran art fair director and Roslyn native Nick Korniloff’s long held dream to bring a world class art fair to the world class resort community of the Hamptons has become a reality.
Korniloff director and partner of Art Miami, the country’s longest running contemporary art fair, brought Miami flair to presenting world class art. Korniloff did not simply pitch a tent in a rutted field, he built a magnificent, gleaming white pavilion of 1000,000 sq. ft., with carpeted, hardwood floors, air-conditioning, an elegant VIP lounge offering cool cocktails, gourmet treats and sophisticated design throughout. And the top international collectors turned out in droves. Over the weekend last summer, some 12,000 art enthusiasts from around the world made Art Southampton their destination.

On a very tangible economic level, Art Southampton has had a profound impact on the community financially. With a commitment to hire all services locally – from printers to electricians to landscape design, Art Southampton contributed over $750,000 to the local economy. This does not count the hundreds of thousands spent by our participating galleries on lodging, dining and shopping or the countless dollars spent by our over 12,000 attendees, a fact that was duly noted by Congressman Tim Bishop in his letter of welcome this year.
What accounts for the tremendous success of Art Southampton? Experience. Presented by Art Miami, the premiere and longest running contemporary and modern art fair, Art Southampton brings an extraordinary attention to detail, a carefully selected group of galleries and works by the most distinguished artists of our time to what has been an underserved market of serous collectors.
