Hamptons Museum Teaming Up With Local Artist For Debut Neoteric Night

“In the spirit of my former gallery space and continuing projects, I wanted to invite the creative community to come together to make introductions and connections,” said Scott Bluedorn, an East Hampton-based artist, illustrator, and designer, who alongside the Parrish Art Museum is hosting the inaugural Hamptons Neoteric Night.

The debut Neoteric Night will be held on Friday, January 29th at 6 p.m., at the Parrish. Throughout the night, attendees will have the chance to meet and chat with other museumgoers and find out about their past, present, and upcoming projects. The program is open to East End-based artists from all disciplines, including those that focus in the fields of visual art, craft, design, photography, video, music, performance, dance, writing, architecture, and new media.

“I believe collaboration is a current theme in art making, and that creative practitioners benefit when there is a familiarity… as well as an impetus to work with each other,” explained Bluedorn. “The goal of this program is to make introductions that could foster future partnerships across media.”

The program, which will serve as an opportunity to interact with new friends in a casual and collaborative environment, will feature brief, informal presentations in a round-table format, followed by networking and mingling in the Museum’s Lichtenstein Theater.

Those interested in attending the inaugural event should send 3 to 5 digital images (jpeg format, 1 mg maximum each), video files (1024 x 768 .mov format, 2 minute maximum), or audio files (2 minute maximum) to Jody Gambino ([email protected]) by Wednesday, January 27th. Participants are also asked to bring a short bio and business cards to Neoteric Night.

Admission is $10, but free for members. Advanced reservations for Neoteric Night are highly recommended.
