On Saturday, July 12, 2014 the Parrish Art Museum will hold their annual Midsummer Party, hosted by museum director, Terrie Sultan. For the second year, the gala will be held at their new Water Mill home, and is expected to be a summer highlight, attracting a crowd of art collectors, artists, socialites, entertainers, philanthropists and business men from the Hamptons and beyond.
“The Midsummer Party is the highlight of our summer season, because it brings together all the elements that make our community great: interesting people engaging with art and architecture and celebrating a wonderful mix of creativity in many different disciplines, including music, performance, food, wine and more in a setting unparalleled anywhere in the world,” Terrie Sultan.
The event will honor philanthropist Inga Maren Otto and author and filmmaker Katharina Otto-Bernstein for their generous contributions the Parrish and art culture around the world.
Attendees will enjoy delicious eats provided by Olivier Cheng Catering & Events, music by New York based Coleman Music and entertainment and performances by dancer and choreographer Richard Move and his dance and theater company, MoveOpolis! The evening will feature a cocktail reception followed by a sit-down dinner and dancing. Throughout the event, guests will also have the opportunity to view current exhibitions in the galleries.

Current galleries include Jennifer Bartlett’s History of the Universe, including works from 1970 through 2011, Platform by Maya Lin and the Second Installation of the Permanent Collection, featuring nearly 3,000 works from the nineteenth century to the present.
Jennifer Bartlett’s expo is the first major survey of her work, and features pieces from each of her creative periods and includes everything from signature plate pieces to complex architectural combinations of paintings and sculpture. Maya Lin’s expo will feature her ecologically inspired work that combines art, architecture, and environmental science. She will also present a geographical installation on Hurricane Sandy.
