Hamptons Gallery To Host Pop-Up Exhibit Over Easter Weekend

“‘Duo Tuo’ is an occasion for Kirsten [Benfield] and I to show some of our various new works that feature the diversity of styles and subjects that we both enjoy exploring in our art,” noted artist Jerry Schwabe. “We both move from realistic to abstract, each in our own unique, yet complimentary way.”

Yet again, artists Jerry Schwabe and Kirsten Benfield have joined forces for an East End exhibit. “Duo Tuo,” their latest show together, will be on display at Ashawagh Hall from Friday, April 3rd through Sunday, April 5th. An opening reception will be held on Saturday, April 4th from 4 to 8 p.m.

The two-person show features varied artworks including seascapes, landscapes and abstraction.

Schwabe is a multi-platform artist who paints, photographs and sculpts. His award-winning work has been included at many solo and group shows. “Duo Tuo” will feature Schwabe’s paintings in watercolor, oil and acrylics. His new series of watercolors, “Wet Pavement,” showcase soft subdued hues, while his other paintings are full of bright explosions of color pairings.

Benfield was born in New Zealand and moved to New York in her twenties. She is inspired by her travels as a child and the self-taught artist observes the world and tells viewers a story through her art. She finds the Northeast seasons truly inspiring, especially near the ocean and bays.

“Duo Tuo” is on display on Friday, April 3rd from 1 to 7 p.m., Saturday, April 4th from 12 to 8 p.m. and Sunday, April 5th from 12 to 4 p.m.
