This summer, Belinda Neumann and Alison Wolfson are taking up a residency at the Nicole Ripka Gallery in Water Mill, where the duo will present AftermodernisM in the Hamptons, an exhibition of paintings and sculptures by 33 artists. The exhibition will be open from Saturday, July 2nd to Sunday, September 4th.
“We live in an incomplete world,” remarked Neumann and Wolfson. “Therefore, it is imperative to examine the new art which deals with our lack of closure.”
AftermodernisM in the Hamptons will require visitors to look at visually conflicting patterns and colors, as well as juxtapositions. It will cause you to think more critically about your view of art, life, and the world.

“The Hamptons community should see this show because it represents an important new visual language which is currently emerging,” explained Neumann and Wolfson. “The way it is organized as a group exhibition gives the Hamptons audience a unique opportunity to have a survey introduction to this current developing vocabulary. The purpose of this show is to function as a working gallery as well as expose the Hamptons community to the most exciting art being made today.”
AftermodernisM in the Hamptons participating artists include Nina Chanel Abney, Benjamin Edwards, Chris Johanson, James Busby, Xavier Veilhan, and Almond Zigmund.
The summer residency debut on July 2nd had an incredible turnout with over 200 people in attendance. Almond Zigmund, a local and very involved artist, noted she had never been to an art opening in the Hamptons with such a grand attendance. It’s evident this gallery is a must-see this summer season!

“We formed our company to help advise private and corporate collectors, as well as guide young and mid-career artists,” said Neumann and Wolfson. “By drawing on our combined history, experience and long term relationships, we are uniquely positioned to guide both new and existing collectors in their purchases of art from established and younger artists.”
The duo’s goal is to help educate visitors about the art world and expand their collection with pieces that fit the client best. “Our taste, access, expertise and industry knowledge are critical assets in helping to choose the best examples of an artist’s work for a client.
