Celebrate Columbus Day weekend with an exhibition and sale of fine art from artists of the East End on Saturday October 8th, Sunday, October 9th and Monday, October 10th. Nine artists have been chosen to exhibit their latest works for three days at the historic Ashawagh Hall in Springs as part of 9 East End Realists. You will be amazed by the passion and talent of these select artists. Not only are attendees invited to view the one-of-a-kind pieces, but they can also purchase pieces that catch their eye.

“9 Realists’ artistic common thread for this show is that we are – all nine of us – painting in a representational style – that means viewers can recognize scenes, objects in the paintings,” remarked Ann Lombardo, one of the featured artists in this show. “But that’s where it gets interesting, because conversely, we are all so different! Age, gender, origins, histories, all very diverse.”
You can meet the nine artists and chat about their process during a Reception on Saturday, October 8th from 5 to 8 p.m. There’s no better way to learn about a piece of art than from the artist themselves. 9 East End Realists participating artists include Emma Ballou, Aubrey Grainger, Ann Lombardo, Keith Mantell, Lucille Berrill Paulsen, Leo Revi, Joanne Rosko, Eileen Dawn Skretch, and Pamela Thomson.
“Eileen Dawn Skretch is the organizer/curator of this show, having invited the other 8 painters to join in this exhibition,” noted Lombardo. “We know each other through the local art scene and some of us have hung our work at various times in shows recently on the East End – here and there, not all of us all the time. We are all members of a much bigger group, called 30Squared Daily Painters, whose purpose is to promote collaboration and support for each other as artists.”
The exhibit is free to the public and credit cards are accepted. 9 East End Realists can be viewed from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., daily.
