Guild Hall in East Hampton is currently accepting online applications for their Guild House Artist-in-Residence (GH AIR) Program. The application process will be open from Tuesday, November 1st through Thursday, December 1st, 2016. The residency runs for eight weeks from March 11th through May 7th, 2017 in East Hampton, New York.
“Guild House AIR is a vital new initiative of Guild Hall, and one that particularly excites me,” stated Andrea Grover, Guild Hall’s new Executive Director. “By providing space and mentorship for emerging artists, we are enriching the conversations that have historically bonded creative people in the region.”
This program is entering its second year and provides two-months of living space, a stipend, introductions to the cultural community of the Hamptons, and access to mentorship through Guild Hall’s Academy of the Arts. This membership is comprised of many of the nation’s most accomplished and influential artists. Chosen residents of this program will collaborate and form partnerships with regional artists and cultural institutions.

“Our pilot year of the AIR program was evidence that this is a highly desirable program with enormous potential,” noted Grover.
Only four emerging artists (21+ years) working in the visual, literary, or performing arts, and/or curatorial or critical studies will be selected to take part in GH AIR by a jury of Guild Hall Academy members.
GH AIR furthers Guild Hall’s mission of cultivating and nursing the artistic spirit by bringing the next generation of artists to our local communities on the East End of Long Island. The program provides them with a foundation to develop their talents further.
Guild Hall is located at 158 Main Street in East Hampton. Interested artists should contact Marianna Levine at [email protected] for more information, or visit www.guildhall.org.
