“Our Members’ Show features artwork by over 120 of our member artists,” explained Jane Kirkwood, East End Arts Gallery Director. “The theme, My Unique Style, encouraged artists to enter a piece of art that best showcases their personal artistic style.”
The show’s theme pushed artists to dig deep and take the time to explore their craft and find their own niche in the art world. “This show is a representative cross-section of the talent of Long Island artists with everything from oil painting, encaustics, sculpture, printmaking, mixed media, ceramics, jewelry, and more,” shared Kirkwood. “We are happy to offer this non-juried opportunity to all East End Arts member artists.”
My Unique Style kicks off East End Arts Gallery’s Elements of Style series. In 2017, East End Arts will present seven juried art shows that revolve around Elements of Style – the distinctive way that an artist uses the elements and principles of design in their artwork. East End Arts’ goal is to give members a unique opportunity to present work that might otherwise go unnoticed.
The Elizabeth Richard Memorial Annual Members’ Show is named after the Gallery’s first Executive Director, Elizabeth Richard, who is remembered for creating the Gallery’s signature art program, Art Train, and laying the foundation for the organization’s work today.
