As you start to nail down your Labor Day weekend plans, don’t forget to make time to visit the exceptional 9th Annual Westhampton Beach Festival of the Arts.
“We hope all who hear and read of the event will take a few moments of their day to come visit this extraordinary art event on the Great Lawn, now in its ninth year,” Ron Mellott shared. “Artists from 17 states are traveling to Westhampton Beach to showcase what they create through their vision, talents and passion. Most importantly, exploring art in its myriad forms is at its core a journey of discovering something of ourselves.”
Hosted by St. Marks Episcopal Church, this year’s Festival will feature works from over 120 artisans and artists, who will present sculpture, jewelry, painting, photography and mixed-media, created using an assortment of materials, styles and techniques, as well as a variety of glass, ceramics, fiber art, metalwork and wood works.

“As we view and interact with the works showcased at the show, many will elicit a response from us, at times incomprehensible though at all times personal, intimate and beautiful,” Mellott explained. ” Be it the form, color or texture of the art, the medium in which the work was created that we are responding to, the physical, emotional or psychological response the works draw from us is how we come to personally define ‘art.'”
Produced by Paragon Fine Arts Festivals, the holiday weekend festival has emerged as one of the nation’s Top 50 fine art events.
“Something we rarely if ever anticipate happening though are gladdened when it happens as we then learn how art so enriches our lives,” he added. “These feelings and emotions never leave, they will always be part of adding artwork to our lives and we are glad those feelings are exist within us!”
Many of the artists will be on site, so attendees can pick their brains about the creative process.
The 9th Annual Westhampton Beach Festival of the Arts will take place on the grounds of the Great Lawn on Main Street, across from St. Marks Episcopal Church, on Saturday, September 2 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, September 3 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
