The 10th annual Memorial Day Weekend Show on the Green in Montauk will take place from Friday, May 25 through Sunday, May 27. Presented by the Montauk Artists’ Association, the show will feature art of all kinds.
“Each of our art events is about helping you to explore not just the wondrously creative visions and talents of the artists, but something in you, in each of us, during the process of that discovery,” said Ron Mellot. “How we connect to art is at times mysterious and we are often surprised by our reactions. Those reactions are, however, real and borne of something beautiful within us. That is the connection of art. And why such works will, for our lifetime, hold such meaning and value.”
Every year the Montauk Village Green transforms into an outdoor gallery of original, handmade art brought from throughout Long Island, New York City, and the country. Paintings, sculpture, jewelry, photography, glass, ceramics, mixed-media and woodworking will be included in the show. This year’s holiday weekend exhibition will showcase over 60 artists.
Admirers will also have the opportunity to meet the artists one-on-one and if they don’t see something they immediately connect with, many of the artists will even commission a piece of art made specially for show-goers.
