Via East Hampton, a special art auction event presented by Skrapper Studio, is back in the Hamptons on Saturday, July 21. The one night only exhibition’s 5th iteration will support the 70th Annual Artists & Writers Softball Game and The ROHHAD Association.
Italian art, culture, and fashion will take center stage in East Hampton during this year’s auction, which will feature paintings and photographs by artists, Clayton Calvert, Parker Calvert, William Irish, Ben Moon, William Quigley, and Christopher Schenk, as well as Italian designer Nicola Nappa’s U.S. launch, which includes a one of a kind collaboration with Irish. The Summer Soiree will take place from 6 to 10 p.m.
“Thirty years ago I lived in Rome, yet recently spent the month of April traveling through Italy with Clayton and Parker Calvert,” reflected Quigley. “Seeing all that incredible art, meeting Nicola and William Irish, two young tremendously talented artists, working in a tiny Florence apartment overlooking the Ponte Vecchio, inspired the idea to do a show. Challenged and surrounded by all that great history, we wanted to see how the impact of Italy’s influences would blend together.”

Quigley had his first exhibition with Any Warhol in 1985 and has since shown all over the world. He has been commissioned by U.S. presidents and his most popular paintings showcase musicians Johnny Cash, Michael Jackson, Eminem, Bruce Springsteen, and Mick Jagger as well as athletes including LeBron James, Shaquille O’Neal, Kobe Bryant, Muhammed Ali, and Wayne Gretzky.
Moon, an avid musician and artist, finds inspiration in the way that sonic and visual aspects are paired, resulting in a heightened emotional impact. His work has been featured in New York, London, New Orleans, and Beijing as well as at Miami’s prestigious Art Basel.
Irish, who was born in the UK and raised in Ireland, is debuting his work in the States at this event. After a stint in Florence, he has become an autodidact and has developed a highly personal style of painting.
Parker Calvert is a photographer, filmmaker, and installation artist based out of NYC. His work has appeared in Art in America, ArtForum, Architectural Digest, and Elle Decor, and also been featured in ads at the Macy’s flagship store. Tennis star Venus Williams is a fan. She picked up one of his pieces at Art Basel in Miami in 2016.
Clayton Calvert is a painter, sculptor, installation artist and independent curator. His work explores the relationship between representation and abstraction within his subject interprepretations. His Roman experiences studying art and architecture have strongly influenced his work. His collections can be found in private collections as well as corporate around the world.
Schenk is a photographer and retired Army Battery Commanders. Stationed in Germany during the Cold War, he is a firsthand witness to the fall of the Berlin Wall. He and his family are residents of East Hampton, and the landscape serves as a basis for his photos, highlighting the small details and serenties that make the East End so unique.

Nappa, an Italian designer, has worked with some of the world’s most well known and luxurious brands such as Salvatore Ferragamo, Vivienne Westwood and Celine. He has recently designed bags for the princess of Paris and his bags have been featured in Vogue.
“It will be an ambitious mix of beautiful, handmade women’s bags, photography, incredible drone footage and paintings. I moved to New York in the 80’s and loved the downtown scene where money was important but creativity and making pertinent work was the lifeline to success,” Quigley added. “Part of my thrill as an artist is trying to make a difference for those we aim to support through the sales of our art.”
All proceeds from the works and donations go directly to the ROHADD Association which funds the research for Rapid Onset Obesity, with Hypothalamic Dysfunction, Hypoventilation and Autonomic Dysregulation in children and the Artists and Writers 70th Annual Softball Game, an event that supports local charities such as Phoenix House, The Retreat, Eleanor Whitmore Early Childhood Center, East End Hospice and Soldier Ride. This year’s Game will take place on Saturday, August 18 at 4 p.m. at East Hampton’s Herrick Park.
