Romany Kramoris Gallery is unveiling a special festive display in the windows of the Sag Harbor-based gallery on Thursday, December 27 – just in time for end of the year celebrations.
The FUN faces were created by Adrienne Kitaeff, AKA the FUNist, whose motto is “Have FUN, Be FUN, Give FUN.” Kitaeff accomplishes the third part of her motto by donating a portion of the sales from her whimsical creations to a different organization each season. Currently, proceeds from the FUNist’s works support Meals on Wheels, a program that delivers nutritious meals to those that are homebound.
The FUNist’s faces evolved from years of doodling. “I have never drawn before… I’ve done photography and writing, but not drawing. One morning I downloaded an app to my iPad and started doodling – the faces came out of those doodles,” the FUNist explained.
Kitaeff does not consider herself an artist but rather a FUNist, hence the pseudonym.

“I don’t know who they are or where they come from, but I don’t question it anymore and just laugh when they appear,” the FUNist shared. She hopes her works bring as much cheer to viewers that it brings her creating her FUN community.
In addition to appearing in Romany Kramoris Gallery’s windows, the originally designed faces can be found adorning a plethora of products, such as clothing, tote bags, flip flops, mugs, beach towels, shower curtains and greeting cards.
“They’re adorable,” noted Romany Kramoris, Romany Kramoris Gallery owner. “As charming as anything you’ve ever seen – even more so.”
