karyn mannix contemporary is bringing the annual Love & Passion exhibition back to a very special site.
“I am so excited to have this year’s 16th Annual Love & Passion show back at its original viewing location, Ashawagh Hall,” Karyn Mannix of karyn mannix contemporary shared. “This is a much larger venue and works by approximately 80 plus artists will be on view. And a full weekend of is planned!”

The 16th iteration, which will be on view Friday, January 24 through Sunday, January 26, will encompass a Wonderlust theme, with works spanning from photography to sculpture to painting to mixed media, and more.
Love & Passion: Wonderlustwill boast works from Alex Vignoli, Amanda Kidd Schall, Anne Holton, Athos Zacharias, Barbara Bilotta, Barbara Stein, Caroline Kaplowitz, Christina Stow, Cindy Press, Deanna Grant, Doug Reina, Eileen Hickey-Hulme, Frank Sofo, Georgia Griffin, Gerard Giliberti, Joanlee Montefusco, Jody Gambino, Joyce Kabut, Karen Kir, Kirstin Ilse, Kristina Gale, Liane Alcon, Lori Schultz, Marsha Gayer, Molly Weiss, Nick Tarr, Pamela Ornstein, Paul Dempsey, Rosa Hannah Scott, Rosalind Brenner, Setha Low, Stephanie Brody-Lederman, Steve Haweeli, Teri Kennedy, Trish Franey, and more.
The festivities will commence with a unique experience; the chance to partake in a Mindful Belly Dance Class with Kirah, a an multi-award winning bellydance performer, on Friday January 24 at 6 p.m. Class-goers will learn the basics of pelvis and chest movement through a holistic application. Hafner’s class is inspired by ATBD method by Orly Portal. The evening will begin with a gentle, deep and mindful warm up on the floor, and then move onto exploring the mechanics of attendees bodies, leading to a dynamic experience.
A celebratory Wine Reception will be held on Saturday, January 25 from 4 to 8 p.m. The evening will feature loads of live music, sips, and the chance to admire the exceptional Love & Passion works, of course.
“It will be a TRIPLE FUN Weekend, beginning with a Belly Dancing class on Friday evening, led by Kirah,” Mannix noted. “This will get everyone ready for the opening wine reception on Saturday, where the Al Hawili Band will play Arabian music to dance to. We also have the local band Out East that will be performing as well.”

On Sunday morning, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., East Enders are invited to share their own personal perspective on love during an open mic for poems, songs and short stories. “On Sunday, there is an open mic reading (participants need to sign up prior and space is limited) of Love Letters, which is being organized by artist and poet, Rosalind Brenner,” Mannix explained.
Expected readers include Joanlee Montefusco, Pauline Yeats, Elizabeth Layton, Mary Bromley, Virginia Walker, Fran Casten, Michelle Murphy-Strada, Nina Ross, Molly Weiss, Joanne Pilgrim, Rosalind Brenner, and Eileen Obser. In addition to the extraordinary sharing, coffee will be served.
Love & Passion: Wonderlust will be on view Saturday, January 25 from 12 to 8 p.m. and Sunday, January 26 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
“It is packed weekend full of art, culture and fun,” Mannix added.
