“Our artists are young, dynamic, world class musicians,” shared Gosman. “The nature of chamber music is for the musicians to interact with each other. To add another dimension, we want to create the opportunity for the audience to have an interactive experience with our artists.”
Featured musicians will include violinists Annaliesa Place and Joanna Maurer, Jessica Meyer on viola, Diego Garcia on cello, Isabel Kim on clarinet, Domenica Fossati on flute, percussionist Eric Poland, and pianists Jerome Tan and Milos Repicky. Pedro Giraudo, bass, will perform with his Tango Trio, featuring Emilio Teubal, bandoneon and pianist Rodolfo Zanetti. Vocalists Paul LaRosa, Rachel Calloway and Lilah Gosman will sing songs, arias and duets.
“We want to keep Music for Montauk’s mandate of doing off-season concerts for the community, but also want to offer something new and inspiring during the summer season, a refreshing alternative to the craziness of Montauk in August,” explained Gosman. “We want people to be transported by these concerts and feel like they are a part of something special.”
The series will kickoff with pop-up concerts around town on Tuesday, including at the Montauk Lighthouse (2000 Montauk Highway, Montauk) at 4 p.m. and at the bar at Gosman’s (500 West Lake Drive, Montauk) at 5:30 p.m.
“We’ve engaged a collective of incredible musicians, and created an opportunity for them to play together in an environment where the audience can engage with the music and the music making without the barriers of a traditional concert hall,” said Gosman. “Our performance venues range from the spectacular outdoor setting of Third House (Montauk County Park) with gorgeous sunsets, to more intimate salon venues such as Sole East where you can sip a cocktail or dance to the music of our Tango Trio.”
