Moving on to their sixth year, the Sag Harbor American Music Festival will be kicking of their weekend long celebration with a concert film celebrating a handful of America’s music legends. On Thursday, September 29th at 7:30 p.m. at Bay Street Theater (1 Bay Street, Sag Harbor), filmmaker and musician, Joe Lauro will present Legends of American Music – his compilation of rare film clips highlighting icons such as Sam Cooke, Staple Singers, Beach Boys, Janis Joplin, Bob Dylan and many more.
Prior to the screening, The Jam Session Special Edition, a group of musicians who have contributed their talent to The Jam Session at Bay Burger over the past couple of years, will host a free performance in the lobby beginning at 6:30 p.m. with a cash bar stocked with snacks and beverages. Admission to Legends of American Music is $15 in advance, or $20 at the door.
On Friday, September 30th, Joan Osborne will perform in a trio with Jack Petruzzelli and Andrew Carrillo from 8 to 11 p.m. at Old Whalers Church (44 Union Street, Sag Harbor). Tickets begin at $35.
“We are thrilled to be adding two days to the Festival this year,” shared Kelly Connaughton Dodds, President and Co-Artist at the Sag Harbor American Music Festival. “It promises to be our best yet.”

On Saturday, over 20 free performances can be found from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. at various locations throughout the village including the Dodds and Eder Big Tent, Marine Park, Off-Main Stage, Whaling Museum, the Sag Harbor Inn and more. Saturday will conclude with a Dance Party Fundraiser featuring Gene Casey and the Lone Sharks. Taking place at the Dodds and Eder Big Tent (11 Bridge Street, Sag Harbor) from 9 to 11 p.m., admission is a donation of $25 or more.
The Festival will wrap up on Sunday with a complimentary concert featuring the Lost Bayou Ramblers and Hoo Doo Loungers. The show will take place at Marine Park from 12 to 3 p.m.
“The Free concert in Marine Park will be like a mini New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Fest,” noted Connaughton Dodds. “And the Big Tent at Dodds & Eder will host the biggest Dance Party Gene Casey & the Lone Sharks have ever played. So much fun!”
