Sag Harbor American Music Festival Presenting An Encore With The Nancy Atlas Project

Still reminiscing about the amazing, electric sets that September’s Sag Harbor American Music Festival (SHAMF) brought to the Hamptons? Join the Festival this November for what is bound to be a spectacular encore with a legendary East End-based bands.

On Saturday, November 10, The Nancy Atlas Project will headline during a special concert to raise funds for SHAMF. The epic evening will take place at Old Whalers Church from 8 to 10 p.m.

“It’s an easy way to support the Festival and experience an amazing night of music!” Kelly C Dodds, Sag Harbor American Music Festival President & Co-Artistic Director, noted.

Atlas, who grew up in Commack – “with gypsy blood in her veins”, now calls Montauk home. The musician and her band of journeymen, which includes Johnny Blood, Brett King, Neal Surreal and Richard Rosch, have been longtime fixtures on the East End music scene and have also toured with notable acts like Elvis Costello, Lucinda Williams, Toots and the Maytals, Jimmy Buffett, Crosby, Stills and Nash.

Last year, The Nancy Atlas Project released Cut & Run, the band’s first new studio recording in seven years and sixth studio release overall. It features 15 original compositions, as well as a slowed down alt country take on Dolly Parton’s iconic Jolene.

This year alone, the Sag Harbor American Music Festival hosted nearly 150 professional musicians who treated locals and visitors to complimentary concerts throughout Sag Harbor. The organization, which is a non-profit, is spearheaded by volunteers. 90 percent of the funds SHAMF raises are used towards producing and raising awareness about the annual festival. The additional 10 percent is allocated towards supporting free live music year-round and budding local musicians through school music programs. Since 2012, SHAMF has donated two upright string basses, music software and iPads, an electronic keyboard and funding for school concert uniforms to Pierson Middle/High School.

General Admission to Encore: Nancy Atlas Project is $30. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m.
