With miserable winter weather keeping kids cooped up, Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center’s Arts Education Program’s winter theater camps featuring Disney favorites are a great way for students to express their creative side when playing outside is limited.
Over the February school break, children ages 5 to 16 are invited to spend their vacation working on a musical adaptation of “Rapunzel.” Starting Monday, February 16th through Friday, February 20th, attendees will act, sing, and dance to get performance ready as they rehearse with Missoula Children’s Theatre Directors from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Campers hard work will be showcased during a public performance at WHBPAC on Friday, February 20th at 7 p.m. Admission to the Rapunzel Musical Theatre Camp is $450.
WHBPAC’s The Young Ensemble is taking on Disney’s “Aladdin” Kids, based on the 1992 film. Staring Monday, February 23rd through Saturday, April 18th, children ages 7 to 11 will be entranced as they take a magic carpet ride into the enchanted world of Aladdin. Practices will take place on Mondays from 5:30 to 7 p.m., and the camp will culminate with performances on Friday, April 17th and Saturday, April 18th at 7 p.m. Admission to The Young Ensemble – Disney’s Aladdin Kids is $500.

The Young Players are acting out a mash up of cherished classics during “House of Mouse.” From Monday, February 23rd through Monday, April 20th, attendees will learn the basics of theatre while advancing their drama skills. The workshop is open to children 5 and 6-years-old. Practices will take place on Mondays from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. The Young Players’ House of Mouse final showcase will take place on Monday, April 20th. Admission to the camp is $200.
